TATE MODERN l Mire Lee

Director of Photography

Korean artist Mire Lee is a groundbreaking contemporary voice, and her Turbine Hall installation was designed to be a powerful, visceral experience. I was contacted by the TATE to film a short art piece alongside great director Charles Newland, capturing how the ghosts of industrial history influenced her work.

We shot at night, with the Tate completely empty—experiencing the piece in that silence, with only its mechanical soundscape echoing through the hall, was a truly mesmerizing and hypnotic moment.
