AL JAZEERA l The Lost Souls of Syria

In 2013, a Syrian official defected with 27,000 photos showing corpses of individuals tortured to death in the country's prisons since 2011. One year later, the photos in the Caesar Report revealed to the world the horrors of crimes committed by Bashar al-Assad's regime.

The Lost Souls of Syria is an investigative feature documentary that tells the story behind Caesar's defection to the West and exposes Bashar al-Assad's complicity in crimes against humanity.

The documentary received prestigious awards at numerous festivals worldwide before being acquired in 2023 by broadcasters TV5 Monde, ZDF and Al Jazeera.
